Cal Preserving

We have a house with redwood fences and Ipe siding on the house and needed to refinish and restain all the wood last fall. We obtained a number of quotes. Cal Preserving was not the least expensive of the quotes but I was able to speak to the owner, Bruce, and he explained their process of wood preservation and staining in great detail. Their process made the most sense to me so we chose them do the work. They did all the work needed and did a great job! Everything looked great and the wood looked like new when they finished. Over the following winter and the rains and direct exposure to the elements, we noticed some issues with our wood siding and I contacted Bruce again. He was very responsive and came to our home for an inspection. He was very thoughtful in his evaluation of the issues and he presented us with a number of possible options to correct the problems. I was very impressed that he took the time to think about all the possible options for us as I don't think a lot of other contractors would do the same. We chose a solution that seemed to make the most sense to us and Bruce sent over one of his teams to do the work. This team of Cesar and Moses and Samuel were the best

Bruce is a pleasure to work with. His rates are very reasonable and he does a great job. He really cares about the quality of his work and he is a great communicator. You will not be disappointed !

I have been using this business to maintain my hardwood decks for 15 years. Not only is Bruce a nice guy and easy to deal with, but my decks and hardwood deck furniture and patio have stayed in excellent condition. I have also used his subcontractors to paint and repair the exterior of my wooden Victorian house in San Francisco.

I have teak patio furniture which had become very bleached over time. I had refinished the ensemble myself in the past, but did not want the hassle again. These guys showed up on time (to include the estimator), did the work on-site, finished exactly when they said they would, and the result is stupendous. Completely value-added, and beat their own estimated price. Quick, easy. True professionals. Recommend to anyone.

Hey, Bruce The decks and the gates are gorgeous. I couldn’t be more pleased. Junior, Noel and Gabriel have been a delight to work with. I have never seen such meticulous craftsmanship in a crew. They work together like a well-oiled machine and don’t miss a detail. All that, and they kept inside our budget. (Can’t beat that.) The cleanup was wonderful, right down to removing protective plastic on my yard lights and replacing the stones in our rock gardens. I’m keeping their names in my notes, and I hope you will keep them happy - I’ll be requesting them when we do our next maintenance.
