Freedom Solar

If you are looking for a whole home battery backup system, RUN and look elsewhere unless you are looking for a push toward 100% solar. The sales rep, Kris R, keeps asking me for my TECO bill even though this is only needed for 100% solar conversion. I tried to explain to him I want battery but my wants were ignored. Very poor experience from my end with the sales rep, Kris R focusing on sales commission rather than customer needs. DO NOT GET FOOLED BY THE SALES PITCH.

Updated Review - 8 Months Later. I'm updating my previous review now that the system has been installed and we've moved into the post-installation phase--and unfortunately, my experience has changed significantly. The sales experience was excellent. Kris Richards handled the sales process professionally, transparently, and without pressure. However, everything after installation has been extremely frustrating. Freedom Solar has been attempting to submit the interconnection application since September 16, 2025, and it has been rejected more than six times due to basic, avoidable errors.

BEWARE: Freedom Solar started out as an excellent solution and replacement of a prior solar company that did not work out. After that, however, the relationship unfortunately disintegrated. It took more than 4 months to conclude the project because of TWO failed permit inspections because the layout, diagram and placard were incorrect. Once everything was fixed 4+ months later, they were very quick to send the invoices for the final balance with no apology or acknowledgement that they caused these delays.

Quality product, service oriented, clean and efficient, I'd say an overall 10! Easy referral to my clients.

Freedom Solar is everything you might want from a solar installation company! They were prompt, thoughtful, timely, patient with my questions, and budget conscious. After the installation they stayed with me through the entire process and made sure that I understood all that was taking place, how to interpret the new data from the app, and how to interact with PGE with the various options. I am not sure what else I could have asked for and am extremely pleased with our purchase.
