Los Gatos Construction

AT THIS TIME, I am writing an updated review on Los Gatos Fence & Home Improvements (aka Los Gatos Construction). I am giving them one star (*). With things as they stand, I cannot recommend them. They are irresponsible. They need cash waved in front of them before they'll move. In May 2017, my husband and I originally rated them five stars. Their error -- they installed RUSTING clavoses (clavos plural), forty-eight of them, on two high-end wooden gates. The rust is ruining the gates by bleeding into the wood. We called the beginning of November 2017 informing them of this (with in-between reminders) -- they keep avoiding us -- we are persona non grata -- flotsam and jetsam -- rubbish. In order to be a decent company, they need to remove the 48 old rusting clavoses, install rust-free ones, then bleach the wood to remove the stains. The situation gets worse with time. We paid them several thousand dollars for "excellent" gates. Now the gates are merely "eh" -- nowhere near worth the money we spent. We are not happy campers. We were thinking of hiring them to do our backyard but not now.

We needed to replace an aging, sagging, rotted 'privacy' fence and obtained three quotes. The Los Gatos quote was competitive and their representative Mark was highly professional and competent. The work was done quickly and cleanly, and the fence, plus gate, is first class except for a few turned-over nails. We offered to pay 1/2 when they started and our nice neighbors paid the balance on completion. Zero problem (bummer on the other side of our house, when the neighbor agreed to pay his half and did not honor his commitment, which stuck us with the whole bill, but that was long ago and I should stop whingeing about it). The only minor issue was lack of scheduling feedback, but in the end it all worked out and we are very satisfied. Note: if you're home when they work, you may have to be a fan of Mexican mariachi music as blared from a portable radio.

Los Gatos Construction is best in the business. With the amount of work that we needed done and a small window of time to do it Los Gatos Construction made it happen. We were very pleased with the quality and timeliness of our concrete work. Dave took the time to meet with us multiple times prior to start of work in order to ensure he understood our vision for the completed work. I was very pleased that they left the site clean at the end of each work day. We would highly recommend Los Gatos Construction for any concrete or construction work!

Around Feb 2015 we had a hopeless backyard patch of what used to be grass replaced with pavers. Jeff Dosier and team did a phenomenal job with incredible attention to detail (especially the curved borders), and also gave us great advice about the design. The backyard looks fantastic and is maintenance free now. Very pleased and highly recommend this company.

Just before Thanksgiving this year, our sewer system became problematic and we called in our plumber whom we've used numerous times. It seemed that the work needed was larger than we first anticipated. Los Gatos Construction was recommended by our plumber since several large excavation areas were needed in our driveway. Jeff and Dave brought in their crew and went to work. Despite the Holidays, everyone showed up on time and got the job done quickly! Due to the excavation areas we ended up replacing our entire driveway with beautiful pavers. Our neighbors have commented on the results of their work and what a difference it makes. The entire team at Los Gatos Construction is easy to work with, respectful of you and your property, and do an excellent job. Their followup is terrific. Even returning at no charge to do some extra finish work that we had not expected. A Christmas Bonus!
