My solar was installed first week of November. I was told I needed an updated breaker box to support the unit. It is now the middle of March and nothing has changed. I have made a total of 5 calls. I have been told it's being looked into. Really!!! I am obligated to pay $50,000 for a unit that isn't even operational. Do not use this company!!!

We had Richard install a 5.2 Kw array at our home in 2010. It was a complicated system. In order to maximize the solar potential he mounted panels on two building facing three different directions. This system paid for itself in savings within 6 years. My wife and I both bought Tesla model 3s a couple of years ago and are charging them at home. In May we had Richard install an another 5.2 Kw array. This array cost less than the first system and provides even more power. He made owning solar easy for us by fixing any hardware or software issues and by interfacing with PG&E. I've recommended Ricard and Sun Star Energy to several friends and will continue to do so in the future.

Can't say enough good things about SunStar. Ours was a big, complex job. We built a 38.5kW STC (35.3 kW CEC) ground-mount system (104 panels), aggregated across four meters on two adjacent parcels, with lots of unusual electrical, construction, and permitting considerations. We had one potential installer eventually decide it was too complex, and several others provide sky-high bids. SunStar, by contrast, found several creative ways to get the costs down, and presented us with a very reasonable proposal. Their system also includes DC optimizers (other bids did not), which make a huge different when there's partial shading. It was a tricky job, but the work was careful and top-notch, including quite a few extra improvements and safety upgrades beyond the scope of the contract. While drilling through the garage wall they nicked the shielding on an old electrical line - and while it would have been easy to just tape it up and shove it back in the wall, they spent an entire day replacing the wire and upgrading the adjacent electrical boxes. They were also super friendly, easy-going, and nice to have around. Our toddler is going to miss walking over to visit and check the progress every

Called Richard, about 24 hours later got a price. Decided which system to go with, signed contract and they were at my house starting the install within the week. The whole install process was over in one week. They also worked through rain. Everything was taken care of in professional and friendly manner, answered all my questions. Returned emails with further questions in the weeks following. Just a joy to do business with, highly recommend them.
